1,900 Volunteers to be Selected from out of 5,000 Candidates for Children of Asia Games
1,900 volunteers out of 5,000 candidates will be selected for the 8th Children of Asia Games to be held this summer in Yakutsk. Head of the Volunteer Program, Aiyllaan Vinokurov, announced this at a briefing.
“1,900 volunteers will be involved at the 8th Children of Asia International Sports Games. To date Volunteer Recruitment has ended. More than 5,000 applications were received from those wishing to become Games volunteers. Applications were received not only from Yakutia, but also from more than 60 regions of Russia and from foreign countries,” Aiyllaan Vinokurov informed.
He noted that the interview stage with candidates has now begun. The selection will take place until March 31, 2024. Selected volunteer will receive a letter of invitation.
After selection, the volunteer training phase will begin. The training consists of three stages: a theoretical training course, training in functional responsibilities and on-site training, during which volunteers will try to work at their assigned sites of Children of Asia Games.
In total, volunteers will be involved in 19 functional areas - volunteer attaché to teams, competition venue, educational and cultural programs, arrival and departure, uniform distribution, transportation, accommodation, etc.
“Each volunteer will be provided with full equipment, food and baranded souvenirs,” said Aiyllaan Vinokurov.
All volunteer work will comply with the standards for organizing volunteer activities according to the Event Volunteering Standard of the Association of Volunteer Centers of the Russian Federation.
