The scores are 8:3 and 9:3! High-Scoring Matches on the first day of the futsal competition
While the first six Children of Asia Games included soccer in the competition program, starting from the 7th Children of Asia Games in Vladivostok, the sport was replaced by mini football (futsal).
At the 8th Games in Yakutsk, seven mini football teams entered the fight for medals: the teams of Uzbekistan, Palestine, Kyrgyzstan, Siberian, Urals, Far Eastern Federal Districts and the team of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia).
Two matches were played on the first day of the Games. Both games were successful and the fans who filled the stands of the Victory 50th Anniversary Sports Palace witnessed 23 goals scored!
The Ural team, the core of which is made up of pupils of the best Russian mini football school Tyumen, outperformed their peers from Siberia with the score 8:3. The second game ended with a big victory of the Sakha team over the Kyrgyzstan team with the score 9:3.
At the Children of Asia Games, teams will first determine the best teams in a round robin system, which means that everyone plays against each other. Based on the results of these games, the two teams with the best scores will play against each other in the finals. The third and fourth place teams will compete for bronze medals. This formula for determining the strongest is quite objective and simple.
Mini football matches as part of the 8th Children of Asia Games are being held at the Victory 50th Anniversary Sports Palace from June 26 to July 3. The previous mini football match in Vladivostok was won by the players from the Ural Federal District team, who are the favorites this year as well.
