Less than a week is left before the start of the 8th Children of Asia Games, which will be held in Yakutsk from June 25 to July 7. The team of the Far East regions, which includes the best young athletes from the Amur, Magadan, Sakhalin Regions, Kamchatka, Trans-Baikal, Khabarovsk, Primorye Territories, Buryat, Chukotka and Jewish Autonomous Districts, is preparing for the large-scale competitions.
The program of the 8th Children of Asia Games includes 24 sports. This is the first time that the Sakhalin Region will present a team in classic volleyball. The largest representation of athletes from Khabarovsk Territory is in basketball, volleyball and swimming. Their team will also compete for the first time at the Games in sport climbing, dance sport and Go. Kamchatka athletes will represent the region in mini football, swimming and boxing.
This time we will tell you about the training of Vladivostok athletes. In total, 35 students from Vladivostok's municipal sports schools joined the Far East national team, including Lev Kravchenko, Daniil Shadrin, Taisiya Serdyukova and the Gloria rhythmic gymnastics team.
It should be noted that young Lev Kravchenko is the only swimmer from Primorye who will go to international competitions as a member of the Far East national team. He is a student of the Rusich sports school. Evgeniya Lesik coaches him.
"We practice both in the gym and in the swimming pool. Usually we train five to six times a week, but during the period of preparation for competitions, we do it twice a day. I am going to the Children of Asia to win, I believe it will require proper physical training, good spirit and a bit of luck," says Lev Kravchenko.
The Far East will also be represented at the Games by girls from Vladivostok's gymnastics school. The Gloria team, including Veronika Savintseva, Agniya Shcherbakova, Melania Ponomareva, Elizaveta Chuprina and Alexandra Sviridyuk, will participate in group gymnastics.
The girls are prepared for serious and responsible competitions by their coaches Elena Shcherbatyuk and Elena Balakireva. They note that the athletes have been practicing for a long time and are always in the leading positions. Now the gymnasts are preparing for the games in Yakutia, they train every day and work on the details. There are two gymnastic exercises in the program, one with hoops and the other with clubs.
Taisiya Serdyukova, another pupil of the gymnastics school in Vladivostok, will perform an individual program at the Children of Asia Games. Alexandra Osipova coaches her.
Yakutia is actively preparing for the meeting of young athletes to witness bright victories at the large-scale sports festival called Children of Asia.
Recall, the 8th Children of Asia Games will be held in Yakutsk from 25 June to 7 July 2024. Young athletes will play 239 sets of medals in 24 sports.
