A Few Days to Go until the 8th Children of Asia Games Flame Lighting Ceremony
On Tuesday, March 19, the 8th Children of Asia Games Flame Lighting Ceremony set to take place in Yakutia. The ceremony will be held according to tradition at the foot of the Lena Pillars Nature Park.
The event will be attended by the Head of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) Aisen Nikolaev, the President of the Russian Olympic Committee Stanislav Pozdnyakov, the President of the Children of Asia International Committee Vladimir Maksimov and two-time Olympic champion in hockey Vyacheslav Fetisov.
Flame Lighting Ceremony is an integral part of the Games. The ceremony is carried out in compliance with the traditions of the Sakha people, thereby paying tribute to the land where the Children of Asia Games originated.
Moreover, as part of the 8th Children of Asia Games Flame Lighting Ceremony, the Mammoth League Hockey match will be held. The match will bring together two teams - “Legends of Hockey” and “Team of Yakutia”.
To recall, Torch Relay of the 8th Children of Asia Games starts on March 20. The first point is Khangalassky district - the homeland of the founder of Children of Asia Games, the First President of the Sakha Republic, Mikhail Nikolaev. Tuymaada Stadium in Yakutsk will be the last point of the route. Torch Relay will end on June 26 at the Opening Ceremony of the Games.
