The 8th Children of Asia Games Torch Relay in Ust-Maysky District
Today, on June 11, the 8th Children of Asia Games Torch Relay was welcomed in the Ust-Maya settlement.
Ust-Maya residents picked up the torch from Amginsky District and carried it through the district center. This is the 31st district to welcome the Torch Relay of the Games.
The first to receive the flame of the Games was the head of the Ust-Maya settlement, amateur athlete Dmitry Malishevsky.
The right to carry the 8th Children of Asia Games flame through the district center was given to the winners and medalists of republican and all-Russian competitions and amateur athletes, including the International Class Master of Sports, participant of the Olympic Games in Barcelona, silver medalist of the Goodwill Games, and champion of the USSR, Anatoly Filippov.
The flame of the 8th Children of Asia Games, lit on March 19 at the foot of the Lena Pillars, has already traveled over 34,000 kilometers. It was carried by 385 torchbearers and met by 775 volunteers.
