Torch of the 8th Children of Asia Games was transferred to the Mikhail Nikolaev Museum
The torch of the 8th Children of Asia Games was donated to the Nikolaev-Center library-archive of the First President of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) and founder of the Children of Asia Games Mikhail Nikolaev. It is located in his homeland in the village of Oktyomtsy, Khangalassky District of Yakutia.
The torch of the 8th Games is made of aluminum alloy, made in three colors symbolizing the rich nature of Yakutia: blue is sky, green is taiga and white is air. The torch weighs 1.8 kg, making it light and easy to move.
“Children of Asia Games is a legacy left to us by the First President of Yakutia, created for the development of children’s and youth sports and strengthening international sports cooperation. And today truly is the only children’s international sports event, uniting the entire Asia”, said the Director General of the 8th Children of Asia Games Directorate Mikhail Sivtsev.
On September 19, 1995, Mikhail Nikolaev signed the Decree on Holding the First Children of Asia Games in 1996 in order to further improve and develop children's sports.
