The solemn ceremony of raising the Syrian national flag in the Athletes Village of the 8th Children of Asia Games took place today, June 21, in Yakutsk. This emblematic event was held by Stepan Pavlov, the mayor of the Athletes Village.
"We are very pleased to welcome the delegation from Syria today. We have done a lot of work to make our guests' stay comfortable and convenient," Stepan Pavlov noted.
A total of 33 athletes from the Syrian Arab Republic will participate in the Games. The athletes will compete in boxing, judo, athletics, table tennis, wrestling, and rhythmic gymnastics. The traditional ceremony of raising national flags in the Athletes Village is one of the oldest and most important events at the Children of Asia Games.
