Head of Yakutia Chaired Orgnizing committee meeting on the 8th Children of Asia Games

8th Children of Asia International Sports Games will be held from June 25 to July 7, 2024 in their historical homeland - in Yakutsk. Up to 3,000 people are expected to participate in the Games.

The Head of Yakutia, Mr. Aisen Nikolaev, reviewed the preparations for the Games.

“Today it is obvious that the Children of Asia Games will become one of the largest events to be held in 2024 in our country. Preliminarily, about 30 countries have already expressed their desire to participate. The Republic, as the host region of the Games, has a huge responsibility. Of course, it is necessary to prepare thoroughly for an event of this level. We have always held competitions at the highest organizational level. I am sure that next year we will be able to organize a real holiday of sports, peace and friendship,” the Head said.

The Head was informed about the level of training in certain areas: reconstruction and repair of facilities, landscaping, accommodation, logistics and meals for participants, cultural program, training of united teams of the Republic.

A multifunctional sports hall will be built in the 77th quarter of Yakutsk. A two-story facility with a total area of more than 5.5 thousand square meters. m. with stands for 400 seats will be put into operation for the 8th Children of Asia International Sports Games.

In total, 16 sports facilities in Yakutsk are planned to be used for competitions. Of these, 9 facilities will be repaired. All work must be carried out in the current year.

On the basis of the North-Eastern Federal University there will be an “Olympic Village”, where training and leisure time for athletes, cultural events, master classes, excursion programs and much more will be organized.

Following the meeting, Mr. Aisen Nikolaev instructed to coordinate and approve the Regulations of the Games with the Children of Asia International Committee.

The program of the Games currently includes 17 compulsory sports: 3x3 basketball, boxing, volleyball, freestyle wrestling, judo, kurash wrestling wrestling, athletics, mas-wrestling, table tennis, swimming, shooting, archery, sambo, taekwondo, mini-football, khapsagai wrestling, rhythmic gymnastics. Also 5 additional sports are included: trap shooting, kickboxing, chess, dance sports, Go. Demonstration sports are also planned: belt wrestling "Alysh" and rock climbing.

Children of Asia International Sports Games were founded and first held in Yakutia in 1996 under the initiative of the first President of Yakutia, Mr. Mikhail Nikolaev.
