The Head of Yakutia Inspected Sports Facilities for Children of Asia Games

As part of the preparation for the 8th Children of Asia Games, a multifunctional sports hall is being built in Yakutsk and renovation of large sports facilities continues. Aisen Nikolaev, the Head of the Sakha Repablic (Yakutia), inspected sports facilities being prepared for the Children of Asia Games.

The construction of a multifunctional sports hall is being carried out. In a two-story complex with an area of more than 2,800 sq. m there is a universal hall with stands for 400 seats, rooms for rhythmic gymnastics and boxing, and a gym. A brand-new venue will host competitions in volleyball during Children of Asia Games.

The roof, heating system, water supply and catering facilities at Triumph Sports Center were repaired. By the end of May, repair works of the training halls and locker rooms, running track, dormitory, air conditioning and security systems should be completed. In addition, work will be carried out to improve the surrounding area.

Renovation work also continues at Tuymaada Stadium and Dokhsun Sports Complex. The stadium's lawn, running track, and spectator seats are being renovated.

“This year rock climbing is included in Children of Asia Games program as a demonstration sport. And the Olympians Support Fund has provided us with a climbing wall. Last year we prepared the installation site at Dokhsun Sports Complex, and everything should be installed by May 30. There will be three areas: bouldering about 5 meters high - two areas on the western side and two on the eastern side - one for difficulty and one for speed. The total height is 16 meters,” said the acting director of the Republican Center for Training of Sports Reserve Alexander Andreev.

Aisen Nikolaev, summing up the results of the inspection of the facilities, set the task of completing work in all facilities, including Tuymaada Stadium, by June 1.

The 8th Children of Asia Games will be held from June 25 to July 7, 2024 in their birthplace - in Yakutsk. Young athletes will compete in 24 sports.
