Chief Referee of 8th Children of Asia Games to conduct a boxing master class and a physical education lesson in Astana

Chief referee of the 8th Children of Asia Games, an alumnus of the Children of Asia Games, Mr. Merey Akshalov, will conduct a physical education lesson and a boxing master class on April 17 in Astana for students of a Kazakh school and the Kazakhstan Republic’s Specialized Boarding School-College of Olympic Reserve. The event is being implemented within the Union of Alumni of Children of Asia Games established by the Children of Asia International Committee.

Mr. Merey Akshalov took part in boxing competitions in the 3rd Children of Asia Games that ook place in 2004 in Yakutsk. For the first time in the long history of the Games, the chief referee of the competition has become a Games graduate. Now, as an experienced athlete and referee, he will share his knowledge with the new generation of athletes.

“Participation in the Children of Asia Games was an unforgettable and very valuable experience for me. Having returned to Children of Asia as the chief referee and having joined the Alumni Union, I feel a responsibility for the new generation. I think it is necessary to impart to them not only technical skills, but also important life lessons that will help children achieve their goals in sports and in life. Sport is not only competitions and medals, it is a way of life, and I hope that my master class and physical education lesson will be useful for them,” said Mr. Merey Akshalov.

The Union of Alumni of Children of Asia Games is one of the Committee’s projects, the main goal of which is to attract graduates to create and implement programs in the field of children’s sports development. Mr. Merey Akshalov is a shining example of how participation in the Games can inspire and prepare athletes for great achievements.
