One year to go before the 8th Children of Asia International Sports Games in Yakutsk
Today, exactly one year prior to start of the 8th Children of Asia International Sports Games, a working meeting was held attended by President of the Children of Asia International Committee Mr. Vladimir Maksimov and Head of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) Mr. Aisen Nikolaev. Preparation and holding of the upcoming Games to be held next year were discussed at the meeting.
Mr. Aisen Nikolaev noted the forthcoming meeting of Games’ Organizing committee will consider the phases of preparation in certain areas: reconstruction and repair of facilities, improvement, accommodation, logistics and meals for participants, a cultural program, training of united teams of the Republic.
16 sports facilities will be involved in the competition. To date, almost in all facilities repair works are underway. This year, more than 400 million rubles have been allocated to upgrade 12 facilities.
Furthermore, 17-20 July, 2023 Yakutsk will hold Chefs de Mission Seminar attended by representatives of the 8th Children of Asia Games’ participating countries. The seminar participants will be able to learn about preparation, with the conditions for holding competitions, inspect accommodation and catering facilities for young athletes.
Within the framework of Chefs de Mission Seminar Countdown to 8th Children of Asia International Sports Games Launch Ceremony will take place at Lenin Square in Yakutsk.
Recall the 8th Children of Asia International Sports Games will be held from June 25 to July 7, 2024. Competitions will be held in 24 sports at 16 sports facilities. 224 sets of medals will be played.
