Climbing Wall at Dokhsun Sports Complex is Built for the 8th Children of Asia Games
The construction of the climbing wall was carried out within the framework of the program of the Russian Olympians Support Fund. The facility was built taking into account all the requirements for hosting international competitions.
The climbing wall is divided into 3 sectors of different terrain: a difficulty stand 16 meters high and 30 meters wide, a speed stand 16 meters high and 6 meters wide, and a bouldering structure 5 meters high and 26 meters wide.
• A bouldering wall is designed for short, difficult routes that are climbed without the use of a rope. The wall space is filled with hooks of various shapes, colors and sizes. To ensure safety, climbing is carried out over mats 40 centimeters thick.
• The high-speed route is equipped with special holds for speed climbing, the type and size are strictly regulated by the International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC). The hooks must be located on the track according to a certain pattern. At such climbing walls, only top belay is used.
• Difficulty is performed on a climbing wall with bright and attractive surfaces, with large overhead reliefs and large holds. Here the main emphasis is on climbing with a bottom rope, so such stands are equipped with special intermediate belay points and descent stations of various types.
Currently, training camps for the Yakutia sport climbing team are taking place at the new climbing wall.
Sport climbing was included in the sports program of the 8th Children of Asia Games as a demonstration sport. Competitions will be held from July 1 to July 5. A total of six sets of medals will be played.
