Today, 10 new Volgabus-Serpentine buses with 45 seats were officially handed over in Yakutsk to serve participants and guests of the Children of Asia Games. The Ministry of Transport of the Republic purchased these comfortable buses. The keys to the buses were handed over by Kirill Bychkov, Chairman of the Government of the Republic.
"After the Games are over, the buses will be handed over to the city's municipal unitary enterprise the Yakutsk Passenger Vehicle Company. This new comfortable equipment will be used on inter-municipal routes connecting the capital of the republic with the administrative centres of neighbouring uluses ", said Evgeny Grigoriev, the head of Yakutsk, in his Telegram channel.
"Leasing contracts were signed for the supply of 44 buses for the Yakutsk City District: 25 large class units for MUE “YPVC” of the city of Yakutsk and 19 medium class units for private carriers belonging to non-profit organization “Soyuz Avto”. Today, the keys to 12 buses out of the total number were handed over. The delivery of the rest is expected in the near future", informed Vladimir Sivtsev, the Minister of Transport and Road Economy of the Republic.
All these buses will be used at the Children of Asia games, and after the competitions - on city and inter-municipal routes.
"The buses are modern and comfortable. They run on both environmentally friendly and other types of fuel, taking into account the development of fueling infrastructure, adapted to the harsh climatic conditions of our region", said Sivtsev.
Evgeny Grigoriev, Head of Yakutsk City, noted that the Children of Asia Games are an impetus for the development and improvement of various spheres of urban life, including transport services. He said that 10 new buses of the private carrier “Soyuz Avto” are expected in the city in the coming days, and there will be 19 buses in total. They will also go on city routes.
Recall, the 8th Children of Asia Games will be held from 25 June to 7 July 2024 in Yakutsk.
