The young masters of table tennis were among the first to start the competitive program. It is known that this sport is especially popular on the Asian continent, and Chinese athletes are considered to be world leaders.
At the Children of Asia 2024, young tennis players from nine countries joined the fight for medals: Palestine, Azerbaijan, Syria, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, Laos and China. They compete with teams from three districts of Russia and the Sakha Republic.
On the first day of the competition, the finalists in the mixed category (boys and girls) became known. Out of twenty pairs, representatives of the Siberian and Ural Federal Districts made their way through the preliminary and semifinal games to the golden final. Crispin Adindu and Ekaterina Koynova from Siberia will compete for the first place against the pair of Andrey Varzakov and Sofia Bregina from the Urals. At the same time, pairs from Kazakhstan and Moscow have already won bronze medals.
And where are the Chinese athletes? The fact is, young tennis players from China were not represented in the mixed category. The Chinese team brought two athletes to the Games in Yakutsk, who will compete for medals in single and double events.
