One of the best games with a ball. Basketball players played their first games on Komsomolskaya Square

On Thursday, A 3x3 basketball tournament started on Komsomolskaya Square in Yakutsk. Sixteen teams are currently taking part in the competition: nine junior and seven women's teams. 

At the opening ceremony, Sergey Petrov - President of the Basketball Federation of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), welcomed the audience: "We are happy to welcome our guests and athletes from all over the world to Yakutia. We hope that on the basketball court you will truly show all of your skills and present the spectators with exciting and dynamic games".

The women's teams from Uzbekistan and the Far Eastern Federal District (FEFD) took to the court first. The guests from Uzbekistan took the victory. "The girls were determined to win from the very beginning. The game was not easy at all, the opponents showed excellent preparation, but we are glad that everything worked out in our favour," said Rustam Dadakhonov, coach of the Uzbek team.

Results of the first day of the games among girls:
- Uzbekistan 15:7 FEFD
- Belarus 13:10 UFD
- FEFD 10:11 Sakha-1
- FEFD 7:15 Kazakhstan
- Uzbekistan 8:11 Sakha-1
- Belarus 9:8 SFD

After a slight break, the junior teams finally appeared on the court. The local team, Sakha-1, defeated Kazakhstan in a tight race , deciding the outcome of the game in the matter of last seconds.

The competition will be held from 27 June to 2 July, each day starting from 10:00.
