Megino-Kangalassky District Met the Flame of the 8th Children of Asia Games
Today, 9 June, the torch relay of the 8th Children of Asia Games took place in Nizhny Bestyakh settlement of Megino-Kangalassky District. The first torchbearer was Afanasy Illarionov, a veteran of sports and an honorary citizen of Megino-Kangalassky District.
The flame was carried along the central streets by 21 torchbearers. Among them are:
- Gavril Tsypandin, Director General of the Children of Asia International Committee, champion and two-time medalist of the 2nd Children of Asia Games
- Alexander Bugaev, First Deputy Minister of Sports of Yakutia, bronze medalist of the 1st Children of Asia Games in athletics
- Dmitry Tikhonov, Head of Megino-Kangalassky District
- Artur Zhirkov, two-time Yakutia champion and champion of Russia in mas-wrestling
- Liya Dmitrieva, graduate of Mayina School No. 1, all-around champion of Megino-Kangalassky District
- Anna Petrova, participant of the 3rd Children of Asia Games, a prize-winner in athletics
- Vasily Uvarovsky, a champion and multiple prize-winner in athletics, honorary citizen of the Megino-Kangalassky District
- Aleksei Struchkov, champion of the 5th Children of Asia Games, coach and teacher in mas-wrestling
- Boris Ilyin, owner of the Excellence in Education of Yakutia departmental award, master of sports of the YASSR and RSFSR, honorary citizen of the Megino-Kangalassky District
- Anton Nesterev, champion of Yakutia and prize-winner of the Far East in table tennis, 9th grade student
- Konstantin Vlasov, seven-time champion of Yakutia in freestyle wrestling, master of sports in khapsagai
- Maria Neustroeva, master of sports of the Russian Federation among veterans in running, twelve-time world medalist, eleven-time European champion, honorary citizen of the Megino-Kangalassky District
- Aytal Dyakonov, champion of the 5th Children of Asia Games, two-time boxing champion of the Far Eastern Federal District
- Zakharov Andrian, Executive Director of the Khapsagai Wrestling Federation of Yakutia
- Aleksei Kopylov, prize-winner of the 5th Children of Asia Games, champion of the world and European championships among cadets in freestyle wrestling
- Aleksei Popov, Head of the Sports and Physical Education Department in Megino-Kangalassky District, honored coach of Yakutia
- Arina Fedorova, table tennis champion of Yakutia and Far Eastern Federal District
- Vasily Ambrosov, member of the Yakutia Athletics Federation,
- Ersan Syrovatsky, multiple champion of the district, champion of Yakutia at a distance of 3000 km, graduate of Mayina School No. 1,
- Aleksei Koryakin, champion of the 7th Children of Asia Games in khapsagai.
- Dmitry Tikhonov, Head of the Megino-Kangalassky District, congratulated the participants of the relay.
Amginsky District will be the next district to welcome the flame of the 8th Children of Asia Games.
