Modun and Saina: the names of the mascots of the 8th Children of Asia Games have been announced

The 8th Children of Asia International Sports Games mascots’ names were chosen by VK and Telegram users via voting. In total, more than 2 thousand people took part in the voting.

Based on the voting results, the Baby mammoth was named Modun. The Yakut word Modun means “strong, powerful.”

Among the names for the chipmunk, the name Saina received the most votes. Saina is translated from the Yakut language as “summer”.

The authors of the winning names, who were the first to propose these variants, were Alena Vasilyeva and Gelena Gorokhova. They will be presented with branded gifts.

Recall that the 8th Children of Asia International Sports Games will be held in Yakutsk from June 25 to July 7, 2024. The Games program will include 24 sports and 224 sets of medals will be played.

Children of Asia Games are said by President of the Russian Federation Mr. Vladimir Putin to be one of the most interesting and successful projects in the field of children’s and youth sports, bringing together talented, enthusiastic children from different regions of Russia and a number of Asian countries.
