239 sets of medals to be Played at the 8th Children of Asia Games

239 sets of medals in 24 sports will be played at the 8th Children of Asia International Sports Games. 

Go, kickboxing, dance sports, chess, and trap shooting were included into the 8th Children of Asia Games Sports program for the first time. In addition, rock climbing and alysh belt wrestling are included into the Sports Program as demonstration sports.

“At this time, according to the training plan, national teams of the republic in 24 sports are being formed, preparatory work is underway. Athletes are at training camps and participating in competitions. The final composition of the national teams will be determined in May,” said Alexander Bugaev.

As the First Deputy Minister noted, the renovation of 9 sports facilities is ongoing. The main work will be completed in the first quarter. With the onset of warmer weather at the Tuymaada stadium, a large amount of repair work will be carried out at Dokhsun Sports Complex. A multifunctional sports hall is being built in the Saysar district of Yakutsk. Today the facility is 70% ready. The new hall will host volleyball competitions.

To recall, the 8th Children of Asia International Sports Games will be held from June 25 to July 7, 2024 in Yakutsk.
