“Our kids are determined to win.” Aisen Nikolaev met with the Yakutian national team at the 8th Children of Asia Games

The day before the start of the 8th Children of Asia Games, on June 25, the head of Yakutia Aisen Nikolaev met with the national team of the republic at the 8th Children of Asia Games. He congratulated the athletes on the start of the largest children's sports competitions and wished them successful starts, worthy opponents, and the highest achievements.


As the host of the Games, Yakutia will represent two teams of 370 athletes: the first team - 245, the second - 125. The number of coaches and other specialists is 121, as well as 45 representatives in sports and managers. The first team will compete in all 24 sports, the second team in 21 sports.


“Tomorrow the flame of the Children of Asia Games will be lit at the Tuymaada stadium. We have been working towards it for a long time, and, of course, not only we, but also the entire multinational people of Yakutia have special aspirations with you, the members of the teams who will defend the honor of our republic at these largest children's competitions. You have all come a long way, starting from districts and towns, to this day, and understanding the responsibility that lies on you.


You will compete with the best athletes of the Asian continent, with the first numbers of national teams. And, of course, your professional growth as athletes will be obvious. I am sure that for many of you, the Children of Asia Games will be a step towards the podium of future victories at the continental, world and Olympic championships,” said Aisen Nikolaev.
To form the national team of the republic, 32 republican qualifying competitions were held in 24 sports, covering 3,168 young athletes.
