The new sport climbing centre is officially opened in Yakutsk

Today, on the first day of the sport climbing competition. Its centre was officially opened for the 8th Children of Asia International Sports Games

The opening ceremony was attended by Vladimir Maksimov, President of the Children of Asia International Committee, Rodion Plitukhin, Vice-President of the Children of Asia Committee, Dmitry Bychkov, President of the Climbing Federation of Russia, and Leonid Spiridonov, Minister of Sport of Yakutia.

As Vladimir Maksimov noted, the construction of sports venues is one of the key aspects for the development of sports in general.

"Within the shortest period of time, a decision was made to construct a climbing centre that meets all international standards for competitions. This is largely due to the initiative of the Head of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) Aysen Nikolaev, who instantly supported the idea and, along with the Russian Olympians Foundation, work began on the construction of the climbing centre.

We always say that Children of Asia International Sports Games make new stars. And I am sure that those children who started climbing competitions today will become world stars and world record holders in the near future. Children of Asia - the beginning of victories!

It should be noted that sport climbing was included in the programme of the 8th Children of Asia International Sports Games as a demonstration sport.
