Olympic values and friendship: the Climbing Olympus project at the 8th Children of Asia Games
One of the key events at the 8th Children of Asia Games will be an educational project for young athletes, Climbing Olympus. This project is aimed at promoting Olympic values, clean sport, and sports psychology, as well as strengthening friendships between young athletes.
Climbing Olympus will take place from June 30 to July 5 at the Boiling Point coworking center and the Building of Faculties of Natural Sciences at the M.K. Ammosov North-Eastern Federal University. The program includes three modules. The first is an Olympic lesson, where young athletes will learn about the history of the Olympic movement and the Children of Asia Games. It will be a fascinating lecture that includes watching an animated film and taking an interactive quiz. The second module is about clean sport. The experts of the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) will talk about the culture of zero tolerance for doping, the types of anti-doping violations, and real-life sports cases. The third module is dedicated to sports psychology. The RUSADA speakers will show athletes how to cope with various emotions that arise due to stress, pressure, criticism, and competition.
This year, the speakers will be Evgeniy Khristenko and Alena Chesnokova, specialists of the RUSADA Educational Program Implementation Department, as well as Lira Ulyaeva and Alla Solovyeva, lecturers from the Association of Sports Psychologists.
We would like to remind you that the Climbing Olympus educational program has already taken place for children from Astana, Bishkek, Thailand, Vladivostok, and Kuzbass.
