Mascot Design Contest for the 8th Children of Asia International Sports Games to be held in Yakutsk in 2024 has ended. Baby Mammoth is the official mascot of the Games.
The Contest consisted of three stages. The first stage was open for anyone over 14 years old. In total, more than 60 works were received. In the second stage, the jury board consisting of designers, representatives of the sports community and the Organizing Committee selected 5 design projects, which were evaluated by the jury members. According to the results of the second stage, the places were distributed as follows: Mammoth (5 points), Bison (3 points), Chipmunk (2 points), Lena and Aldan (2 points) and Sable (2 points).
The third stage was online voting on the Children of Asia International Committee’s VK account. More than 2.4 thousand people took part in voting. The results of voting were distributed as follows: Chipmunk (5 points), Sable (4 points), Baby Mammoth (3 points), Bizon (2 points) and Lena and Aldan (1 point).
As the result of summary of points taken during two stages of the Contest, the places were determined as follows: 1st place - Baby Mammoth (8 points), followed by Chipmunk (7 points), then Sobol (6 points), Bizon (5 points) and Lena and Aldan (3 points).
According to the results of the Contest, Baby Mammoth that personifies power, wisdom and kindness becomes the Mascot of the Children of Asia Games in Yakutsk. It is he who will lead young athletes of the Games to success and victory.
However, taking into account the results of online voting, the Organizing Committee decided to have a Chipmunk mascot. For the first time in the history of the Children of Asia International Sports Games, the volunteer corps will have a Mascot - Chipmunk, personifying dexterity, strength and speed.
Mascots are not just considered as symbols, but they are the heart and soul of every Games. They bring good luck and inspire new achievements. We are confident Baby Mammoth and Chipmunk will become best friends for each participant of the Children of Asia Games - Yakutsk 2024.
Recall that the 8th Children of Asia International Sports Games will be held from June 25 to July 7, 2024 in Yakutsk in 24 sports.
