President of the Russian federation Vladimir Putin has sent his greetings to the participants and guests of the 8th Children of Asia International Sports Games
“Your traditional event has always been well-organized and creative, promoting children’s and youth sports, as well as the Olympic movement ideas, and strengthening friendship between peoples from different countries. This year the Children of Asia Games are hosted by the city of Yakutsk. The capital of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) has a long and extensive experience in holding such prestigious competitions. The children will certainly have a good opportunity to enjoy themselves and get acquainted with the unique sights and nature of this far-eastern region.
I am positive that the Games are going to become a major festive event for athletes, guests and residents of Yakutsk, remaining in memory for their intense but fair play, glorious victories and impressive records. I am wishing you all the success, interesting meeting and vivid impressions,” said the head of the state.
The Children of Asia Games have started today, June 26, and are ending on 07 July. The program includes 24 events where young athletes are going to compete for 239 sets of medals. The Opening Ceremony is taking place tonight at Tuymaada Stadium.
