Rock Climbing and Alysh belt wrestling included into Games Sports Program as demonstration sports

The Board of the Children of Asia International Committee approved rock climbing and Alysh belt wrestling as demonstration sports of the 8th Children of Asia International Sports Games. 
“Children of Asia International Committee supports initiatives to develop children's sports. Rock climbing and Alysh belt wrestling are included as demonstration sports at the 8th Children of Asia International Sports Games, but we are sure that they have a great future and excellent perspectives," said Mr. Sherzod Asatullayev, Secretary General of the Children of Asia International Committee.

Rock climbing is a sport and outdoor activity that consists of climbing on natural and artificial terrain. On July 3, 2016, rock climbing was included into the Olympic program of the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics by the IOC. Rock climbing was subsequently included by the IOC in the Olympic program of the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.

Alysh belt wrestling is an ancient Kyrgyz traditional sport. In 2002, the Alysh International Belt Wrestling Federation was founded. It unites many countries and is actively developing. Today Alysh is developed in more than 80 countries of Europe, Asia, America and Africa. Alysh belt wrestling was included into the sports program of Asian Indoor Games, SportAccord World Combat Games, World Martial Arts Games, and World Nomad Games.
Negotiations on inclusion of Alysh belt wrestling into the sports list of the Children of Asia International Sports Games have been conducted since 2017.
