President of the Children of Asia International Committee Vladimir Maksimov meets with the Chief Referee of the 8th Children of Asia Games
President of the Children of Asia International Committee Vladimir Maksimov had a working meeting with Merey Akshalov, Chief Referee of the 8th Children of Asia Games. Gavril Tsypandin, Director General of the Committee, also took part in the meeting.
The parties discussed key issues related to the organization of the competitions and the work of the referee board. In total, more than 700 referees in 24 sports will work at the competitions.
Recall that Merey Akshalov took part in boxing competitions in the 3rd Children of Asia Games, which were held in 2004 in Yakutsk. For the first time in the long history of the Games, an alumnus of the Games became the chief referee of the competition. Merey Akshalov is also a participant of the Olympic Games in Beijing, world and Asian boxing champion.
"It is a great honor for me to become the chief referee of a competition in which I myself was once a competitor. I will do my best to make sure that the refereeing at the Games will be fair. I wish good luck to all the competitors!", Merey Akshalov commented.
