The meeting of the Referee Board of the 8 Children of Asia was held

Vladimir Maksimov, President of the Children of Asia International Committee, met with Merey Akshalov, Chief Referee of the 8th Children of Asia Games. The parties discussed key issues related to the organization of the competitions and the work of the referee board. In total, more than 700 referees in 24 sports will work at the competitions.

As Vladimir Maksimov noted, the International Committee approached the selection of the main referee board with special responsibility.

"I thank the entire referee board for their responsiveness. I have one main request to all the judges and that is objectivity and fairness. At the previous Games we practically did not have a single protest. I hope that the only principle of our work at these Games will be fairness," emphasized Vladimir Maksimov.

In turn, Merey Akshalov told about how the main referee board will work.

"More than 700 referees in 24 sports will work at these Games. Thus, judges with different qualifications and categories have come to Yakutsk. Each sport will have its own chief referees and chief secretaries. We will get involved when there are controversial moments. At the moment, we make sure that all teams pass the credentials committee. For my part, I will make sure that the judging is fair, because the participants of the Games are children who should not be disappointed in the honesty and fairness of the referee board. I wish good luck to all the participants of the competition! May the strongest win," said Merey Akshalov.

It should be noted that Merey Akshalov himself is an alumnus of the 3rd Children of Asia Games in 2004. According to Akshalov, it is a great honor for him to return to Yakutsk after 20 years as the Chief Referee of the Games.
"Participation in the Children of Asia Games is for many athletes the first major step into the world of big sport. I myself am a participant of the 3rd Children of Asia Games, which took place in 2004. Unfortunately, I was left without a medal then, but in 2008 I took part in the Olympic Games in Beijing. I came back to Yakutsk after 20 years as a Chief Referee and it is a great honor for me. I express my gratitude to the Children of Asia International Committee and personally to the Head of the Republic Aisen Nikolaev for such a high confidence in me," Merey Akshalov emphasized.

It should be reminded that a total of 724 referees will be involved in refereeing all 24 sports of the 8th Children of Asia Games, including 240 referees from Yakutia, 442 from other regions of the country and 42 from the countries participating in the Games.
