Stanislav Pozdnyakov, President of the Russian Olympic Committee, met with the participants of the 8th Children of Asia International Sports Games as part of the Young Olympians International Forum in Yakutsk. The legend of sport discussed Olympic values and success in sport with the young athletes.

According to him, meetings with outstanding athletes leave a deep impact on young athletes. The exchange of experience can become a source of further motivation for athletes.
"I am sure that for many guys, taking part in this event will be pretty memorable, because, recalling my own experience, it has always been interesting for me to get advice or opinion from other adult athletes who are already established and whom I respect. And only in this manner, with the use of new knowledge, every athlete can improve, including in sports training," said Stanislav Pozdnyakov.

According to the President of the Russian Olympic Committee, participation in the Children of Asia International Sports Games can give an edge for growth in professional sports and even lead to any athlete's main dream - the Olympic Games.

"I have no doubt that Children of Asia can make a powerful start to the Olympic Games. These are the competitions for our youngest athletes, where they can feel themselves as part of a big Olympic family for the very first time. To live together, eat together, compete together, gain new knowledge, it’s not only a competition, but also about various educational projects, new interesting meetings. Any child who participates here, in these events, will definitely become enriched, because it’s a great start for gaining new knowledge and making new friends who can be friends for the rest of their lives. This is priceless," Stanislav Pozdnyakov emphasised.

The meeting left a long-lasting impression on the young athletes. After the conversation, they were happy to take pictures with the legend of sport and take autographs as a souvenir.
