Medals of the 8th Children of Asia Games Presented in Moscow

The presentation of awards of the 8th Children of Asia Games with symbols reflecting the spirit and culture of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) took place in Moscow at VDNH. The Russian Society “Znanie” hosted the presentation.

The design of the medals is inspired by Yakut national themes, embodied in flowing lines with the outline of the Sterkh feather. The Siberian Crane (Sterkh) is a symbol of lightness, honesty and unselfishness. The central element of each medal is a serge (hitching post) which holds a special place in Yakut culture. It is believed that serge protects from the influence of evil forces and symbolises hospitality and well-being. It was also common to place the serge near a dwelling that has an owner, which is symbolic as Yakutsk is the host of the 8th Children of Asia Games. The central part of the medal is complemented by the logo of the 8th Children of Asia Games in relief.

On the back of the medals is the logo of the Children of Asia International Committee, emphasising the importance of international cooperation and friendship between the competitors.

During the 8th Children of Asia Games, young athletes will play 239 sets of medals in 24 sports.
