Preparation of Sports Facilities for the 8th Children of Asia Games Continues in Yakutia
Sports venues and accommodation facilities involved in 8th Children of Asia Games to be provided with a high level of security. The Minister for Civil Defense and Life Safety of the Population of the Republic Dmitry Lepchikov spoke about this at a briefing.
According to Civil Defence Minister of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) Dmitry Lepchikov, as part of the preparation for the Games, the work of a commission to ensure public law and order, fire safety and emergency prevention has been organized. The commission includes representatives of all responsible executive authorities of the republic, supervisory authorities and territorial bodies of federal executive authorities.
“The commission has inspected all the facilities that are planned to host the Games. To date work is underway to bring the facilities into compliance with all established requirements in the field of fire safety and anti-terrorist protection. In general, the tasks assigned to the commission are being carried out according to plan, the work is proceeding actively,” said Dmitry Lepchikov.
As the minister noted, the general task set by the Head of the Republic Aisen Nikolaev is to ensure a high level of security during the Games. “The tasks are clear and they will be completed,” the head of the department emphasized.
16 sports venues and 13 training facilities will be involved during the Games. At the moment, the construction of one and major repairs of 11 sports facilities are being completed.
8th Children of Asia Games is set to take place from June 25 to July 7, 2024 in Yakutsk.
