Volunteers continue to arrive in Yakutsk for the 8th Children of Asia Games
Volunteers of the 8th Children of Asia Games arrive in Yakutsk. Today, June 18, special “silver” volunteers arrived on a flight from Krasnoyarsk.
“These are volunteers who are over 55 years old. They arrived from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Krasnoyarsk, Yekaterinburg, Chelyabinsk and Belgorod regions, Khakassia and other regions. The Games will involve not only volunteers from other regions of Russia, but also from foreign countries. All of them submitted applications, were selected and trained. It is noteworthy that this is not the first time that many “silver volunteers” have participated and helped in holding the Children of Asia Games,” said the head of the Volunteer Corps of the Children of Asia Games, Ayyllaan Vinokurov.
For example, the ambassador of the Young at Heart federal program, “silver volunteer” from the Republic of Khakassia Natalya Usynina worked as a volunteer at the previous 7th Children of Asia International Sports Games.
“This time I will also be happy to work at the Children of Asia Games in a very necessary area of providing assistance – spectator navigation. It's a pleasure to work with kids. Galina Grushevskaya flew with me from Abakan; she is a medic by training and will help provide medical care. We have all been selected and trained, and we really want to help in holding the Games events. Thank you to the organizers for preparing a business and cultural program for us in addition to the work program. It is very important. Very kind, hospitable, erudite, athletic people live in Yakutia. We want to get acquainted with the sights and rich traditions of the Yakut people even more,” said Natalya Usynina.
“Silver volunteer” Evgenia Vlasova arrived from Yekaterinburg, Irina Lisitskaya from Magnitogorsk. They expressed great gratitude for the warm welcome.
1,900 volunteers will be involved in 19 functional areas at the 8th Children of Asia Games. These are attachés of foreign delegations, attachés of delegations from Russian regions, volunteers at various sites, volunteers for educational, cultural programs, meetings and send-offs, distribution of equipment, transport, accommodation and other areas.
