In the athletes village of the 8th Children of Asia Games, the flag of the Russian Federation was raised at the solemn ceremony of welcoming the team of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). The event was attended by the mayor of the athletes village Stepan Pavlov.
“It’s gratifying that today we are opening the athletes village and welcoming our competition participants. We were the first to meet the team of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) and raised the Russian flag to the flagpole. Today we are expecting other delegations, I am sure the 8th Children of Asia Games will be held at a high level,” said Stepan Pavlov.
Young athletes will compete for 239 sets of medals in 24 sports. The competitions will be held at 16 sports grounds in the city.
“I will take part in athletics competitions. It's a great honor for us to be here. The 8th Children of Asia Games are the beginning of new achievements for me, I wish all participants good luck,” noted Yulia Zhirokhova, a member of the Yakutia national team.
Let us remind you that the 8th Children of Asia Games will be held from June 25 to July 7, 2024 in Yakutsk. The opening ceremony will take place on June 26 at the Tuymaada stadium.
