International Forum of Young Olympians to be held in Yakutsk as part of the 8th Children of Asia Games

The International Forum of Young Olympians will be held for the first time in Yakutsk during the 8th Children of Asia Games. The event is organised by the Russian Olympic Committee. Yesterday, on 22 May, a delegation from the ROC visited N.I. Sharin school No.39, where the forum will be organised.

According to Sardaana Zhendrinskaya, Head of the Team Interaction and Linguistic Services Department of the Directorate for Preparing and Organising the 8th Children of Asia Games, the aim of the forum is to promote true Olympic values and prepare young athletes for participation in Olympic events of an educational nature.
The main event will take place on 27 June. Children of Asia Games athletes who will be free from training and competition on that day will attend it. In addition, a separate catch-up programme will be organised for those who will not be able to join, which will take place during the Games.

"As part of the forum, meetings are planned with Olympic champions who will talk about their experience of participating in the Olympic Games. Young athletes will be able to see and familiarise themselves with the wonderful experience that famous athletes have. They will also learn what a sports career and the world of big sport is like," said Sardaana Zhendrinskaya.
In addition, the forum will feature a variety of educational seminars and lectures about post-career careers, building a culture of zero tolerance for doping, as well as other issues that promote new knowledge about clean sport and the Olympic Movement.

Gavril Tsypandin, Director General of the Children of Asia International Committee, noted that in addition to the Young Olympians forum, an educational project "Climbing Olympus" will also be held during the Games, which aims to promote Olympic values, clean sport and sports psychology.

"By founding this knowledge in athletes from a young age, as a result we get already responsible and well-rounded adult athletes who are ready to work for results and achieve even more new heights in their sporting careers," he noted.

Recall, the 8th Children of Asia International Sports Games will be held from 25 June to 7 July in Yakutsk.
