Yakutsk has accepted the torch relay of the 8th Children of Asia Games
The final stage of the torch relay of the 8th Children of Asia Games has taken place today in Yakutsk. The relay started on Victory Square, passed through the central streets of the city and finished on Friendship Square. About 80 torchbearers took part in it, including the Head of Yakutia Aisen Nikolaev, the President of the Russian Olympic Committee Stanislav Pozdnyakov and the President of the International Committee “Children of Asia” Vladimir Maksimov, graduates of the Games of different years.
“Lighted 100 days ago on the Lena Pillars, in the place of our strength, the flame of the 8th Children of Asia Games has arrived in Yakutsk today, having covered a long journey of 37 thousand kilometers through the territories of all our municipal districts, having absorbed love, friendship, desires for peace, kindness and success to the “Children of Asia” games, which were transmitted by hundreds of thousands of residents of Yakutia,” said the Head of Yakutia, Aisen Nikolaev.
President of the International Committee “Children of Asia” Vladimir Maksimov recalled that there is little time left before the opening of the Games.
“Today we will together witness the commemoration of the start of the 8th Children of Asia Games at the Tuymaada stadium. I would like to wish us all that these Games will traditionally be held in a good and competitive spirit and that the strongest will win,” emphasized Vladimir Maksimov.
In turn, the President of the Russian Olympic Committee Stanislav Pozdnyakov noted that the torch relay of the 8th Children of Asia Games is a symbol of the desire for excellence, warmth, friendship and mutual respect.
“The Olympic movement is first and foremost about Olympic values: friendship, respect for your opponent and the pursuit of excellence. I am confident that all participants in the 8th Children of Asia Games fully comply with these main Olympic principles,” said Stanislav Pozdnyakov.
